Credit Card Tips.

1. Make sure to look at the APR (annual percentage rate). Always look for a card with a low apr.

2. Look for a card with a good balance transfer. This will allow you to take your other credit card balances and transfer them to your new card. Many times credit cards will have a zero apr balance transfer offers. Take advantage of this !! You may be able to carry a balance over with no interest charges.

3. Reward Cards. There are many different rewards cards. The most popular reward card is the travel rewards. This will allow you to earn many different rewards based on travel. Some examples of travel rewards are airline miles, hotel specific cards, and free travel insurance. Whatever the reward is look at each offer carefully.

4. Do You have bad credit or no credit? That is not a problem. You can still get credit.

The first way is to apply for a secured credit card. A secured credit is a card that you secure with your own funds. With good payment history you can build your credit back to where it was. Many secure credit card companies report with credit agencies.

The second way is to get a "catalog card". A "catalog card" is a generic term that applies to a credit card that is only good through a specific lender and the products they have to offer. For example: You are given a specific credit limit and can only shop in their catalog. This is a good way to build credit. These cards are almost guaranteed. Almost anyone can get one.
